20,000 Workers Join Industrial Zone Security Forces

In addition to their production activities, nearly 20,000 workers are participating in the rapid response security forces to maintain order and security in industrial zones. This initiative has been highly praised by the Ministry of Public Security at the National Security Protection Conference held in Thủ Dầu Một on July 19th.

Protecting Industrial Zones

Bình Dương province is home to 41 industrial parks and clusters, attracting around 39,000 foreign-invested businesses and nearly 48,500 domestic enterprises, employing approximately 1.2 million workers. The rapid response forces were established in 2014 after a series of incidents where workers caused significant damage to company property. Currently, the province has formed over 1,000 rapid response teams, consisting of nearly 20,000 members who possess the necessary skills, responsibilities, active participation in grassroots labor unions, clear backgrounds, and good morals. These teams contribute to promoting awareness of security and order policies, responding to 57 fire incidents, reporting more than 1,200 cases, and coordinating with the police to prevent 8 incidents involving worker agitation, consequently stabilizing industrial production.

Effective Model

“Initially, there were only a few teams, but now there are thousands. Since its establishment, this model has proven to be highly effective, preventing complex incidents,” said Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Thao, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Bình Dương.

Maintaining Security in Bình Dương

According to Lieutenant General Lê Quốc Hùng, the Deputy Minister of Public Security, Bình Dương province attracts workers from various provinces to live and work in its numerous industrial parks and clusters. As a result, security and order issues have become increasingly complex. In recent years, there has been an increase in crime related to industrial zones, threats from loan sharks, and psychological manipulation of workers, causing anxiety among the workforce. Given these complex developments, it is essential to coordinate efforts between the police and relevant agencies to raise awareness among workers about the policies and laws related to security.
