Aeon Mall, the Largest Shopping Center in Central Vietnam, Set to Open in September 2024
Business Today – In exciting news for shoppers in Central Vietnam, the construction of the Aeon Mall shopping center in Hue is progressing well. With a total investment of over 3.916 trillion dong, the project is set to be completed and open for business by September 2024.
Construction on Schedule
The construction of the Aeon Mall project began in February 2023 and has faced some challenges along the way. However, the contractors and construction teams have put in great efforts to overcome these difficulties and are committed to completing the project within the scheduled timeframe of 21 months. Currently, the project is already more than 80% complete, with several key milestones already achieved. The investor has also mentioned their determination to expedite the construction progress, aiming to finish the entire project by August 2024 and officially open it for operation by mid-September 2024.
A Game-Changing Development
The Aeon Mall in Hue is considered an important landmark and the largest comprehensive commercial and service center in Central Vietnam. Once operational, it will contribute to enhancing commercial services and social infrastructure according to the approved plan. This development marks a new milestone in attracting investment in the commercial and service sector, bringing a variety of shopping centers and services to the local residents and visitors.
Notably, this project has also been a catalyst for attracting more Japanese investors to Thua Thien – Hue province.
Progress and Partnerships
In November 2021, Thua Thien – Hue province and Aeon Mall Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding for the investment in Aeon Mall Hue, with an estimated total investment of around $170 million. In May 2022, the provincial government and Aeon Mall Vietnam officially agreed to proceed with the project, solidifying their partnership.
This will be the seventh and largest shopping center in the Central Vietnam region for Aeon Mall, located in the city of Hue. Thua Thien – Hue province, the third largest economic hub in Vietnam with a population of over 650,000, is eagerly anticipating the opening of this exciting new shopping destination.
