An Inspiring Tale of a Vietnamese Language Teacher in the Most Populous Nation

At the University of Education in Nam Ninh (located in the Quang Tay province of southern China), lecturer Nguyen Dinh Hoa passionately teaches Vietnamese grammar while introducing Chinese students to the rich culture and cuisine of Vietnam.

Even after class, the students are eager to delve deeper into the vibrant culture of their neighboring country. This dedication and curiosity are a testament to the effectiveness of Mr. Hoa’s teaching methods. Teaching for him is like sowing seeds of the soul, nurturing them to bloom into beautiful flowers.

“I strive to become a ‘sower of seeds of the soul,’ so that the Vietnamese-Chinese friendship always blossoms like flowers,” shared Mr. Hoa, a Vietnamese teacher, in an interview with China News.

In 2013, Mr. Hoa fulfilled his childhood dream of studying in China. After six years of intensive study, he successfully obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees from Southwest University (located in the city of Zhongqing, southwest China).

His decision to study in China was influenced by the deep impression left by Chinese television dramas during his childhood. He developed a profound love for the country, which motivated him to pursue higher education there.

After completing his doctoral studies, Mr. Hoa was invited by Nam Ninh University of Education to teach Vietnamese. When asked about his decision to stay in China, he mentioned the abundant opportunities it offers and, more importantly, the people who have captured his interest.

During his time at Southwest University, Mr. Hoa encountered the love of his life, Chinese native Nguy Du. They fell in love at first sight and shared similar ideals and dreams, leading them to a happy marriage. They have now settled in Nam Ninh and have a daughter.

Aside from teaching, Mr. Hoa actively participates in economic and cultural forums, acting as an interpreter to facilitate trade and cultural exchanges between China and Vietnam. He consistently strives to promote economic and cultural ties between the two countries, contributing to the Vietnamese-Chinese friendship.

According to Mr. Hoa, China has a thriving e-commerce industry, often referred to as the “online shopping paradise.” He believes that affordable prices, convenient payment methods, and fast delivery in China’s online marketplace can greatly benefit Vietnam. He hopes for increased collaboration in the field of e-commerce, leading to the mutual prosperity of the economies of both nations.
