Atlas APC: The New Civilian Armored Truck with a Price Tag of Nearly VND 10 Billion

Recently, a company in the United States called “Goat Strategic Vehicles USA” has introduced the Atlas APC – a civilian truck converted from a military truck. It is based on the Ford F-550 platform, providing excellent protection for those inside the vehicle.

The exterior design of the Atlas APC resembles the Oshkosh Defense JLTV, a light combat vehicle currently used by the US military and Marines. The difference is that this truck is allowed to be driven on the streets of all 50 states in the US, meaning anyone can purchase it without any special license.

The truck features a rugged exterior with small windows, external storage compartments, a spare tire mounted on the roof, and nine steel gun ports strategically positioned to give it a strong and imposing appearance. The Atlas APC always looks ready for combat, whether it’s at the supermarket or cruising down the street.

With larger dimensions compared to average large trucks, the Atlas APC measures 6,325 mm in length, 2,540 mm in width, 2,845 mm in height, and has a ground clearance of 340 mm. It weighs a hefty 7,800 kg.

The steel structure of the truck provides protection against B6 ballistic threats and can even be upgraded to withstand B7 ballistic attacks. Additional features include a combat lock, EMP shield, run-flat tires, an alarm/PA system, enhanced engine and radiator protection, and windows with over 7 cm of ballistic glass throughout the vehicle.

The manufacturer also offers VIP-style interior options with luxurious amenities and leather seats. Additionally, owners can choose a more utilitarian setup with rear cargo space and a maximum payload capacity of 1,500 kg. Alternatively, customers can opt for a more compact pickup truck variant.

The power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. With a 39-gallon fuel capacity, the Atlas APC can travel up to 644 km between refueling stops.

Goat stated that the starting price for the Atlas APC is $395,000 (approximately VND 9.7 billion), with each unit taking 60-90 days for delivery.
