Audi Q7 2024: Enhanced Technology, Customizable Options, and Competitive Pricing
On April 4, 2024, Audi announced that the Audi Q7 2024 will be officially introduced to the Vietnamese market in June, with prices starting from 3.4 billion VND ($146,570) and a 3-year unlimited kilometer warranty. The vehicles will be available for purchase in July, but customers can already place their orders. Audi also offers the option for customers to personalize their Q7.
Two Versions for Versatility
In Vietnam, the Audi Q7 2024 is available in one configuration, the 45 TFSI, which is divided into a standard version and an S Line version. The S Line package adds a sportier appearance to the vehicle, similar to BMW’s M Sport or Mercedes-Benz’s AMG Line.
Subtle Design Changes and Advanced Technology
The Audi Q7 2024 is the second update of the generation initially launched in 2015, following a major update in 2020. This update is likely the final significant upgrade before Audi fully transitions to electric vehicles. According to their announcement, the company plans to release its last gasoline or diesel-powered vehicle in 2025 and sell only electric cars by 2033 (excluding China). Therefore, this update is expected to help the Q7 remain competitive in the market before the shift to electric powertrains.
Along with design refinements, the Audi Q7 2024 features enhanced technology. The front grille has been refreshed, with vertical lines resembling water droplets on the standard version and the letter “L” on the premium S Line variant. The wheels have also been upgraded to 20 inches.
The Audi Q7 2024 comes with standard LED headlights, offering improved lighting accuracy and higher resolution while reducing glare for oncoming vehicles. The rear of the vehicle features a prominent LED strip that enhances the overall design. The LED brake lights activate faster, improving visibility for vehicles behind.
Unchanged Powertrain
The Audi Q7 2024 maintains its existing powertrain, using a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine with direct fuel injection. This engine delivers 248 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed tiptronic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.3 seconds, with a top speed of 230 km/h.
Keeping the powertrain unchanged in facelifted models is common practice. However, with the Q7 being almost 20 years old and having only two generations, these facelifts usually include some significant updates. The fact that the powertrain remains untouched could be an indication that Audi is preparing for a “pure electric” era.
When comparing prices, the Audi Q7 has a competitive advantage over its rivals in Vietnam. The Mercedes-Benz GLE is currently priced from 4.669 billion VND ($201,457), while the recently updated BMW X5 starts from 3.909 billion VND ($168,597).
