Bắc cầu vượt: China’s Astonishing Engineering Feat Completed in Record Time

China has once again astounded the world with its impressive engineering capabilities. In just over two years, the country has completed the construction of a bridge that connects two mountain peaks, leaving the rest of the world in awe.

Setting New Heights in Bridge Construction

China is known for having one of the most advanced modern bridge systems in the world. Its team of technical wizards previously stunned the world with the construction of the Chajiaotan Suspension Bridge in the province of Guizhou – one of the tallest bridges in the world. This bridge plays a crucial role, connecting Sichuan Province with Guizhou Province, and spanning the Chishui River Valley.

An Engineering Marvel

Standing at around 315 meters high, with its main tower reaching a staggering 243.5 meters, this bridge is roughly equivalent to a 70-story building. With a total length of 2,009 meters and a bridge deck width of 27 meters, the main span measures an impressive 1,200 meters.

To construct this mammoth project, the Chinese construction team took less than two and a half years, officially opening the bridge to traffic at the end of September 2019.

“When we started building the bridge, I went to survey the site. Driving along the winding mountain road, everyone was amazed. But our relentless efforts successfully transformed this seemingly impossible project into the magnificent bridge we see today,” said Li Runzhe, a project manager.

Overcoming Mountainous Challenges

While a 1,200-meter main span suspension bridge may not be uncommon in flat areas, it is quite rare in mountainous regions. To facilitate construction, a nearly 500-meter tunnel was excavated along the coast of Sichuan Province to serve as an access road for the project.

Furthermore, during the construction process, drones were utilized to fly a 2,000-meter cable across the valley to connect with the tower summit – a remarkable feat of engineering.

Building at heights of 200 to 300 meters is no easy task. To achieve this feat, the project team established a video surveillance management system, equipped with over 30 high-resolution cameras capable of 360-degree rotation, allowing for careful monitoring of the construction progress.

In conclusion, China’s completion of the interconnecting mountain bridge is a testament to its engineering prowess. With its exceptional speed and remarkable achievements, China continues to redefine the boundaries of what is possible in construction and engineering.
