Boeing Aircraft Carrying 141 Passengers Faces “Terrifying Incident”
A recent incident involving a flight carrying 141 passengers has left travelers horrified. On April 7th, Southwest Airlines, a low-cost airline based in the United States, experienced a terrifying mishap moments before takeoff at Denver International Airport in Colorado.
A video circulating on social media shows the engine of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft, labeled as 3695, emitting blue metal fragments before tearing apart, revealing its silver interior. The incident occurred as the plane was gaining speed on the runway.
The distressing ordeal prompted the aircraft, which had reached an altitude of 3,140 meters, to turn back and make an emergency landing at Denver International Airport, just 25 minutes after takeoff.
Southwest Airlines confirmed that the Boeing 737-800 safely landed at 8:15 am local time on April 7th, and passengers were transferred to another aircraft to continue their journey to Houston, Texas.
“We apologize for the delay caused by this incident, but the safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority. Our maintenance team is currently assessing the aircraft’s condition,” stated a Southwest Airlines spokesperson, emphasizing their commitment to passenger safety.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft was delivered to Southwest Airlines in 2015. The detachable engine cowling, which was the cause of the incident, is typically removed for maintenance purposes.
This marks the second technical incident involving a Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by Southwest Airlines in the past week. Just a few days prior, a flight from Texas was canceled due to an engine fire.
The FAA has launched investigations into both incidents, aiming to uncover the causes and preventative measures.
At Business Today, we understand the importance of aviation safety and commend Southwest Airlines for their swift response in ensuring the well-being of their passengers. We will continue to follow developments regarding these incidents and keep our readers informed.
