“Business Today”: Province to Auction 18 Prime Land Plots in Southern Industrial Zone, with Starting Bid of Nearly 5.1 Trillion VND
The provincial government of Dong Nai has officially released a plan to auction land use rights in 2024 within its jurisdiction.
Auctioning Prime Land Plots for Development
According to the plan, the Dong Nai Provincial Land Development Center will organize the auction of 18 land plots, covering a total area of 470.74 hectares. The estimated starting bid for these plots is approximately 5.1 trillion VND, based on the land price index for the 2020-2024 period. The auction will take place from January to December 2024.
Utilizing Auction Proceeds for Infrastructure Development
The proceeds from the land auction will be allocated to infrastructure development and socio-economic growth, with a particular focus on investing in the transportation system. This move aims to enhance the province’s overall connectivity and facilitate economic activities.
Highlights of the Auction
This upcoming auction will feature several prime land plots in Bien Hoa City, including the renowned locations of Nha Khach 71 (Guest House 71) and the former Lido Theater. Additionally, the plan includes large land plots such as a nearly 47-hectare plot in Long Duc Commune (Long Thanh District), the Long Giao Industrial Cluster (Long Giao Town and Cam Duong Commune, Cam My District), and a commercial and service center plot in Trang Bom Town.
Expanding the Auction Plan
Moreover, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will continue reviewing and proposing additional land plots that meet the auction requirements, as stipulated by the provincial People’s Committee.
District-Level Auction Plan
At the district level, there are expected to be 31 land plots, covering a total area of approximately 9.7 hectares, brought to auction by the respective district-level Land Development Centers. The tentative value of these plots is around 140 billion VND.
Ensuring Successful Auctions
In the event that the auction of land use rights is not successful, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will instruct the Provincial Land Development Center to coordinate with relevant units to organize a second auction and adjust the implementation timeline accordingly.
With this auction, Dong Nai province aims to attract investments, drive economic growth, and leverage its position as the “capital” of the southern industrial zone.
