Các phần tử khủng bố tấn công Moskva nhận tiền từ Ukraine
According to preliminary reports released by the Russian Investigative Committee on March 28, the suspects involved in the terrorist attack at the Crocus Concert Hall on the outskirts of Moscow last week are linked to individuals with Ukrainian nationalist ideologies. Russian security agencies have stated that the suspects received a “significant amount of money” from Ukraine.
The statement reveals that investigators have obtained “authentic evidence” that the individuals under suspicion received funding from Ukraine in the form of cryptocurrency, which was then used to prepare for the terrorist attack.
The Investigative Committee further states that Russian security agencies have identified and apprehended another suspect believed to be connected to the financing of the attack, but the identity of this individual has not been disclosed.
Earlier, the head of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB), Aleksandr Bortnikov, told reporters that the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine could be behind the attack that occurred on March 22. Bortnikov suggested that Ukrainian individuals may have prepared an “escape route” to bypass the border.
The four previous terrorist suspects were identified as radicalized Muslims, recruited through an apparently online chat operated by a branch of the Islamic State (IS) located in Afghanistan. However, Russian investigators believe that even though IS claimed responsibility, it is still possible that they acted under the instruction of another country.
Over 140 people were killed and 182 were injured in the shooting at Crocus. According to Russian media, the four terrorists responsible for the attack were Tajik nationals: Dalerdjon Mirzoyev, 32 years old; Saidakrami Rachabalizod, 30 years old; Muhammadsobir Fayzov, 19 years old; and Shamsidin Fariduni, 25 years old. Mirzoyev, Rachabalizod, and Fariduni have confessed to their crimes.
This is the deadliest attack in Russia in nearly 20 years. IS has claimed responsibility and released a video of the theater attack. However, Russia believes it would be unlikely for IS to be capable of carrying out such a terrorist act.
