The architectural design plan for the Saigon River pedestrian bridge has been approved by the City Executive Committee and the People’s Committee. Construction of the bridge is scheduled to commence on April 30, 2025. The bridge will be located between the Ba Son bridge and the Saigon River Tunnel, connecting District 1’s Bạch Đằng Park with the central square in the new Thủ Thiêm urban area in Thủ Đức City. The bridge’s architectural design features a stylized image of a water coconut leaf, which represents the southern region. It is expected to become a new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, serving residents and tourists alike.

Dự án khép kín đường Vành đai 2

Upon completion, the Vành đai 2 road project will connect the main Võ Chí Công road with Hanoi Highway, shortening the transportation distance for goods from the eastern and northeastern ports to the southern part of the city (Cát Lái and Phú Hữu ports). The project is allocated a budget of 4.543 trillion đồng, with 2.587 trillion đồng for construction and approximately 1.956 trillion đồng for land clearance compensation. The completion date for the Vành đai 2, section 3 (from Phạm Văn Đồng road to the Gò Dưa intersection on National Highway 1 in Thủ Đức City) has been adjusted to 2026, allowing for the continuation of construction work.

The Vành đai 2, section 1 (from Phú Hữu bridge to Hanoi Highway) and Vành đai 2, section 2 (from Bình Thái to Phạm Văn Đồng) projects have been approved for investment by the City Council at its 13th session. The project owners are currently conducting feasibility studies and coordinating land clearance activities. The projects are expected to be completed in 2026.

Dự án Vành đai 4 Tp HCM

The Vành đai 4 project in Ho Chi Minh City is expected to complete its feasibility study in the first quarter of 2024 and commence construction in 2025. The total investment for the project is approximately 105 trillion đồng, with the estimated construction cost for the main route being over 47 trillion đồng. The city’s budget will contribute around 50% of the funds, with the remaining amount being raised through investment calls, totaling around 25 trillion đồng. Compensation and land clearance will be implemented by the relevant provinces and districts.

Furthermore, the Thủ Thiêm 2 bridge and Cần Giờ bridge are also scheduled to be initiated on April 30, 2025. The construction of the Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge aims to connect the new Thủ Thiêm urban area with the new Nam Thành phố urban area, alleviating traffic congestion and reducing accidents at the Cát Lái ferry. The Cần Giờ bridge project will replace the Bình Khánh ferry, connecting the Cần Giờ island district with the city center and surrounding areas. This project will address traffic congestion, reduce accidents, and meet the demand for smooth transportation along the Rừng Sác route.
