Dong Nai

Recently, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province, Vo Van Phi, met with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, as well as the People’s Committees of districts and cities to discuss the plan for land use rights auctions in 2024.

According to the report from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, after reviewing the legal procedures, there are currently 21 land plots that meet the conditions for inclusion in the plan for land use rights auctions in 2024. Among these, 13 plots were already included in the plan for land use rights auctions in 2023, and 8 additional plots have been added.

To ensure the feasibility of the land auction process, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has recommended that the People’s Committee of the province consider approving the plan for land use rights auctions in 2024. They have also directed local departments and agencies to perform the following tasks: provide information on construction planning, estimate the total investment amount of the projects after winning the auction, and include any plots that are currently not part of the plan for affordable housing or social housing development.

The People’s Committee of the province has urged district-level authorities to expedite the detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/500 or streamline the detailed planning for the land plots. Additionally, the People’s Committee of the province has been working urgently with the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group and Dong Nai Rubber Corporation to complete the necessary procedures for the clearance and cutting of rubber trees, in order to hand over the land for auction.

According to the Vice Chairman of the province, land use rights auctions are an important task for implementing mid-term public investment projects and promoting socio-economic development. However, the land auction process has been slow due to the low market demand, as well as the poor coordination among departments, agencies, and local authorities in meeting the requirements for auctioning.

The People’s Committee of the province has requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to finalize the plan for land use in 2024 and submit it for approval. This plan should consolidate the land plots to be allocated and the additional plots to be included, specify the responsibilities of departments, agencies, and localities with specific timelines, and provide an estimated timeline for the auctions. Relevant units will advise the People’s Committee of the province in establishing a land auction team to ensure timely coordination and direction.
