Hanoi City Council Approves Additional Land Recovery Projects
In a recent meeting held on March 29th, the Hanoi City Council passed a resolution to adjust and add to the list of land recovery projects for the year 2024. The council agreed to increase the land area to be recovered in 27 projects, totaling 53.21 hectares, and decrease the land area in 11 projects, totaling 33.18 hectares. Additionally, the council made adjustments to the project names, scales, and locations of 6 projects, without changing the land area.
The Hanoi City Council also approved the addition of 217 land recovery projects for the year 2024, covering a total area of 929.86 hectares. They also added 27 projects to convert land for rice cultivation, with a total area of 62.04 hectares, and 1 project to convert forest land for protective purposes, covering an area of 0.3687 hectares.
Before the resolution was passed, the Economic-Budget Committee of the City Council requested the City Government to clarify the legal basis and objective reasons for increasing the land area in 27 projects and reducing it in 11 projects. The committee also asked for clarification on the legal basis, the entities subject to recovery, and the relevant urban planning decisions for 5 newly registered projects in Bac Tu Liem district, in order to ensure compliance with the stated criteria. Furthermore, they requested clarification on the proposed increase in land recovery area for the high-end Me Linh Urban Area project.
Regarding the group of projects that require investor selection through bidding, the Economic-Budget Committee recommended that the City Government direct the relevant agencies and units to expedite the procedures and ensure compliance with the legal regulations for investor selection.
After reviewing the Economic-Budget Committee’s report, the Hanoi City Government provided explanations and answered questions raised by council members. Following the discussions, the council unanimously passed the resolution to adjust and add to the list of land recovery projects for the year 2024, as well as the list of projects to convert land for rice cultivation and forest land for protective purposes within the city.
