Kia K4 – The Next Generation of K3 Unveils Coupe Style Design, Completely Transformed Interior with Large Screen

Kia K4

Kia K4, which is essentially a rebranded version of the previous K3/Cerato, has made its appearance in Europe for testing in harsh cold weather conditions.

While the exterior of the car is still disguised, the Kia K4 test vehicle has revealed its sporty coupe-like sedan profile with a sloping roofline and gradually rising waistline towards the rear. The car’s dimensions are expected to be slightly larger, following the trend of recent upgrades in the automotive industry.

Some notable exterior features of the Kia K4 include door handles mounted close to the C-pillar and an L-shaped rear combination taillight.

More importantly, this latest sighting of the Kia K4 provides a glimpse of its interior design for the first time. The center of the dashboard features a large screen that combines entertainment and instrument cluster functions in one expansive glass panel. Directly below it, there is a physical button control panel. The center console also includes a large traditional gear lever.

As of now, the specific details about the Kia K4’s performance and engine options remain unknown. Possible choices for the powertrain could include a naturally aspirated 2.0L engine, a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine (potentially the flagship variant with over 200 horsepower), or a 1.6L hybrid engine.

The complete unveiling of the Kia K4 is expected in the third quarter of 2024.

The Kia sedan lineup will undergo significant name changes starting from the next generation, as has already been seen with the Kia K3. Formerly known as the Cerato, the latest iteration of this model has now become the Kia Rio (launched in August 2023).

As a result, the previous Kia Cerato will be repositioned as the K4, while the Optima will now be known as the K5. Therefore, the future sedan lineup from Kia will consist of the K3 (Rio), K4 (Cerato), and K5 (Optima).
