Kia Seltos 2024: More than meets the eye, now with electronic handbrake

On March 22nd, Kia officially introduced the 2024 Kia Seltos to the Vietnamese market. The new model is assembled domestically, with four trim levels available: AT, Luxury, Premium, and GT-Line. Pricing for the Seltos starts at VND 599 million.

The new Seltos offers a competitive price point compared to its rivals. Both the Creta and Xforce start at VND 599 million.

Refined design

The 2024 Seltos features a facelifted design, with minimal changes to its exterior compared to the previous model. The new version includes a front grille, LED headlights, and a horizontal LED taillight design similar to the Carnival. The 17-inch alloy wheels have a more intricate design.

Modern and convenient features

The Seltos offers a range of modern and convenient features. These include a unique heads-up display (HUD), a D-cut sports steering wheel with paddle shifters, and an electronic handbrake. Other features include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear vents, USB-C charging ports, wireless charging, auto-dimming mirrors, power tailgate, and Kia Connect Lite smartphone connectivity.

New engine and transmission options

The 2024 Seltos offers two engine options. The AT, Luxury, and Premium trims come with a SmartStream 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, delivering 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The GT-Line trim features a SmartStream 1.5L turbocharged engine, producing 158 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

High-end safety technology

The GT-Line and Premium trims of the Seltos offer advanced safety features, including forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, speed limit warning, blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision warning, door open warning, and driver attention warning. The Seltos also includes basic safety systems such as ABS, EBD, BA, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, rear parking sensors, rearview camera, tire pressure monitoring system, and six airbags.

With various improvements inside and out, especially in terms of technology, the Kia Seltos is expected to enhance its competitiveness in the market.
