Latest Update on the 14,000 billion VND Road Connecting the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Highway to the Center of Vung Tau City
Merging urban and highway infrastructure is essential for the growth of any city, and Vung Tau City in Vietnam is no exception. In the latest development, Pho Bi thu Thuong truc Tinh uy Ba Ria – Vung Tau Nguyen Thi Yen led a working session with the Steering Committee for Compensation, Site Clearance, Resettlement Support, and Implementation of the road project connecting the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Highway (from QL56 to Vung Van interchange) through Ba Ria City.
According to Ba Ria City People’s Committee, the road project connecting the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Highway through Ba Ria City spans 5.35 kilometers. It involves reclaiming approximately 219,224 square meters of land across 316 cases, passing through Hoa Long commune and the Long Tam and Long Toan wards.
Ba Ria City has made significant progress in this project, completing the counting of affected households, reviewing and identifying the land positions to establish a basis for specific land valuation for compensation. They have also increased personnel to facilitate the implementation of compensation and site clearance activities. Currently, the verification of declared, counted, and statistically recorded residential and other assets related to the entire route stands at an impressive 96.2%.
According to the timeline, Ba Ria City will issue specific land valuations by April 18, enabling the construction of the compensation and resettlement support plan. Additionally, they will allocate resettlement plans in the Hoa Long commune.
Pho Bi thu Thuong truc Tinh uy Ba Ria – Vung Tau instructed Ba Ria City People’s Committee and relevant units to focus on accelerating the progress, aiming to complete the site clearance for the project as soon as possible.
The Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Highway project commenced in June 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2025. Currently, the progress of Section 3, which spans the Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, is ahead of schedule by approximately three months.
To enhance connectivity between Vung Tau City center and the end point of the highway, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province has approved an investment plan for a road connecting the two, with a total investment of over 13,900 billion VND.
The 16.5-kilometer road will be divided into three projects. The first project stretches from the intersection of National Highway 56 in Ba Ria City to Vung Van interchange in Long Dien district. It covers a distance of 6.71 kilometers, with a mix of urban expressway and parallel roads, requiring an investment of 6,700 billion VND.
The second project covers the stretch from Vung Van interchange to the coastal road of Vung Tau – Binh Thuan (DT 994), specifically in ward 12 of Vung Tau City. This section, spanning over 6.8 kilometers, will also comprise an urban expressway and parallel roads. The approved budget for this project is nearly 5,200 billion VND.
The third project extends from the intersection point with the coastal road DT 994 to the final connection point with 2/9 road in Vung Tau City. It forms part of the main Vung Tau axis road project, covering a distance of 2.87 kilometers and requiring an investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND.
Upon completion, this road will enable residents and visitors to travel conveniently and quickly from the end point of the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau Highway to the city center.
