Latest Update on the ‘Coffee King’s Collection’
by Business Today
Renowned as the ‘Coffee King,’ Đặng Lê Nguyên Vũ has added another gem to his collection – a rare Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. This supercar, previously owned by the founder of Trung Nguyên Coffee, has an interesting history.
A Car with a Serious Accident and Multiple Owners
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, imported to Vietnam in August 2009, has gone through three owners over its 15-year lifespan. Originally, the car had a Red Rosso Corsa paint job and belonged to a car enthusiast in Hanoi. After two years, the vehicle suffered a severe accident, resulting in significant damage to the front section. It took about two years to repair. In 2013, Đặng Lê Nguyên Vũ became the proud owner of the car and had it repainted military green, later changing it to white with military green decals.
In 2021, Đặng Lê Nguyên Vũ sold the car to a showroom in District 5. Originally priced at over 8 billion VND, the car failed to find a buyer until it was purchased back by Đặng Lê Nguyên Vũ at an undisclosed price. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano has now been repainted in its original red color.
What Makes the Ferrari 599 GTB Special?
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is the first of its kind in Vietnam. It debuted at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show as the successor to the 575 Maranello. Designed by Pininfarina under Frank Stephenson’s guidance, this model was eventually replaced by the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in 2012.
The initials GTB stand for GranTurismo Berlinetta, while Fiorano refers to an area in Italy and a race track owned by Ferrari. The number 599 represents the engine’s displacement of 5,999cc.
With dimensions measuring 4,665 x 1,962 x 1,336 (mm), the 599 GTB Fiorano is a rare sports car by Ferrari that boasts a ground clearance of 157mm, making it suitable for cruising on Vietnamese roads.
The interior of the 599 GTB features a combination of light brown and red colors. It includes a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated ignition button and Manettino dial, which enables the selection of various driving modes and deactivates the traction control system.
Powering the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a naturally-aspirated 6.0L V12 engine, generating 612 horsepower at 7,600 rpm and a maximum torque of 608 Nm at 5,600 rpm. The engine has a redline of 8,400 rpm and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h.
According to a revelation from the Vietnam Business Forum, Đặng Lê Nguyên Vũ, the owner of the Trung Nguyên Coffee brand, currently possesses the largest collection of cars in Vietnam.
