Man Raises Money Begging with SUV
A man in Malaysia has raised eyebrows after it was discovered that he was using his SUV to beg for money. In just four to five hours of begging at a night market, the man with a unique hand was able to earn a staggering 500 RM (approximately 2.6 million VND). What makes this situation even more surprising is the fact that the man drives a Proton X70 Premium SUV, which retails for 123,800 RM to 128,800 RM (around 650 to 677 million VND).
This unexpected discovery prompted social welfare officials to investigate further. The man, whose name was not revealed, was initially detained but later released with a warning as it was his first offense in Maran district. The subsequent investigation revealed that he works as a night shift supervisor at a bus company, earning a monthly salary of 2,000 RM (around 10.5 million VND).
Following media coverage of the incident, the man has pledged to stop begging for money. However, he has lost his disability allowance of 450 RM per month as he no longer qualifies for support from the Social Welfare Department.
According to Noraini Ahmad, the Deputy Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development, “This person does not meet the criteria for receiving assistance from the Social Welfare Department.” It remains to be seen how the man will sustain himself without resorting to begging.
This story serves as a surprising reminder that financial circumstances can sometimes be more complex than they appear. It also highlights the importance of understanding the criteria and conditions for social welfare assistance.
