MG ZS Electric Version Launched, Priced at Over 650 Million Dong
MG ZS EV, a B-segment electric SUV, has been launched at a competitive price that is expected to rival the BYD Atto 3, another electric vehicle from a “home brand.” The MG ZS EV comes in a single variant priced at 125,999 RM (659 million dong), excluding insurance costs. This price includes a 7-year/150,000 km warranty and an 8-year/180,000 km battery warranty, with one-to-one battery replacement if the battery capacity drops below 70% during the warranty period.
Powerful and Efficient
The SUV is powered by a single electric motor at the front, providing 173 horsepower (130 kW) and 280 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds. The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery has a capacity of over 51 kWh, giving the ZS EV a range of 320 km according to the WLTP standard.
Convenient Charging Options
The ZS EV supports fast DC charging up to 50 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 54 minutes. Additionally, the AC 7 kW wall-mounted charger can fully charge the vehicle in 7 hours.
Compact and Stylish Design
Despite being smaller in size compared to other electric SUVs like the Atto 3 and Chery Omoda E5, the ZS EV features a relatively complex multi-link rear suspension system. The vehicle measures 4,323 mm in length, 1,809 mm in width, and 1,649 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,581 mm.
Modern Interior Features
Inside, the ZS EV takes inspiration from the Mk6 Volkswagen Golf, especially in the central control panel and steering wheel controls. The cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include wireless Qi charging and a gear selector knob.
Safety and Comfort
The ZS EV comes with standard 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, keyless entry with push-button start, automatic headlights and wipers, 6-way power-adjustable leather seats, 4 speakers, a 360-degree camera system, 6 speakers, and stability control. Safety features include emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic headlights.
