New Car Models in March: Ford, Volkswagen, Volvo, and Hyundai
The automotive market in Vietnam is about to welcome several new car models from renowned brands such as Ford, Volkswagen, Volvo, and Hyundai. These new arrivals are expected to offer exciting features and options for car enthusiasts.
Volkswagen Teramont X
The Volkswagen Teramont X 2024, which has been eagerly anticipated since the beginning of the year, is finally set to debut in the Vietnamese market this March. Imported from China, this sporty version of the Teramont is expected to have a selling price of around 2.168 billion VND.
Compared to the traditional Teramont, the Teramont X boasts a new design with a coupe-style rear window and seats for five people. The car is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L TSI engine, delivering 220 horsepower, 350 Nm of torque, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive.
Ford Ranger Stormtrak
The highly anticipated Ford Ranger Stormtrak will also make its debut this month. Positioned as a premium variant between the Wildtrak and Raptor models, the Ranger Stormtrak is expected to have a starting price of around 1.059 billion VND.
While the overall design of the Ranger Stormtrak remains similar to the Wildtrak, it features some sporty and personalized elements. Under the hood, it is equipped with a 2.0L bi-turbo diesel engine, a 10-speed automatic transmission, 207 horsepower, and a maximum torque of 500 Nm.
Hyundai Stargazer X
The Hyundai Stargazer MPV, which has been available in the Vietnamese market for over a year, is now introducing a new high-riding variant called the Stargazer X. Customers who have placed deposits will soon receive their vehicles in March. Imported from Indonesia, the Stargazer X will be offered in two versions: Special and Premium, with prices ranging from 695 to 750 million VND.
The Stargazer X adds SUV-inspired elements such as a wider front grille, a raised hood, 17-inch alloy wheels, additional body cladding on the front and rear bumpers, roof rails, and a larger rear spoiler.
Under the hood, the Stargazer X retains its 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive.
Volvo S90 Recharge Ultimate
The Volvo S90 Recharge Ultimate is expected to hit the Vietnamese market soon. The vehicle’s fuel consumption rates have been revealed by the Vehicle Registration Department of Vietnam, with an impressive figure of only 1.4 liters per 100 km for hybrid mode. It consumes approximately 166 kW of electricity per kilometer.
Industry insiders anticipate that the Volvo S90 Recharge Ultimate will be priced around 2.89 billion VND, which is 570 million VND higher than the current S90 mild-hybrid variant available in Vietnam.
The S90 Recharge Ultimate features a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 2.0L petrol engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined output of around 462 horsepower and 709 Nm of torque. The car is equipped with an 18.8 kWh Lithium-ion battery, which can be fully charged in just five hours using a domestic power source.
