Promised Rewards

According to the Russian Investigative Committee, following the commission of the crime, the terrorists drove towards the Russia-Ukraine border to claim the promised rewards. The self-proclaimed Islamic State-affiliated group, Khorasan, claimed responsibility for the massacre. The United States and the European Union also confirmed this organization as the sole perpetrator, although Ukraine denied any involvement in the terrorist act.

In an online announcement on Al-Nabaa, IS stated that their militants had become targets of the Russian Air Force and Ground Forces.
