Nha Trang to Develop Numerous Mountain and Island Townships
Nha Trang, a coastal city in Vietnam, is set to undergo significant urban development as part of a government-approved master plan. The plan, which extends until 2040, aims to ensure sustainable growth while preserving natural resources and promoting tourism.
Expanding Urban Spaces
The revised master plan encompasses an approximate total area of 26,736 hectares, including about 25,422 hectares in Nha Trang and 1,314 hectares in Diên Khánh district. By 2030, the city’s population is projected to reach 630,000-640,000, and by 2040, it is expected to grow to 750,000-780,000. To accommodate this growth, Nha Trang will expand urban development towards the north, northwest, west, south, and east, extending towards the sea in the Vĩnh Lương and Phước Đồng areas, as well as on the surrounding islands.

Furthermore, he emphasized the need to allocate land for green spaces, public amenities, education, healthcare, and other essential services to ensure the well-being of Nha Trang’s residents. By learning from its 100-year development history and experiences of other cities, Nha Trang aims to strike a balance between preserving its natural, cultural, and historical heritage while accommodating modern demands.

Mountain and Island Development
Under the revised master plan, the mountainous areas of Nha Trang, covering approximately 13,156 hectares, will primarily focus on developing mountain tourism. This approach will ensure stability in terms of topography and geology, restore the natural landscape, and ensure the safety of construction projects while respecting the local ecological balance.

With its commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of its natural beauty, Nha Trang is poised to become a prominent destination for both local and international travelers.
