Porsche Taycan Turbo GT: The Most Powerful Porsche Yet
On March 12th, Porsche unveiled their latest flagship model, the Taycan Turbo GT. This high-performance electric vehicle (EV) is not only the pinnacle of the Taycan lineup but also the most powerful car in Porsche’s history.
Unmatched Power and Performance
First and foremost, the default specifications of the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT are impressive, with 777 horsepower and 1,340 Nm of torque. However, it’s only when you activate the maximum system capabilities, including the Attack Mode and Launch Control features, that the power output reaches its peak at 1,092 horsepower. To activate these features, simply hold the right paddle on the steering wheel.
Thanks to its powerful dual electric motors, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.2 seconds (or 2.1 seconds with the optional Weissach package) and reach 200 km/h in 6.6 seconds (or 6.4 seconds with the Weissach package). Its top speed is an impressive 306 km/h, surpassing the average top speeds of conventional EVs on the market, which typically reach around 250 km/h.
Sleek Design and Aerodynamics
The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT stands out from the rest of the Taycan lineup with its race-inspired body kit. The most distinctive feature is the adaptive rear wing, along with the front air splitter and rear diffuser that integrate small aerodynamic fins and optimize the car’s aerodynamics by generating 220 kg of downforce.
Other design highlights include carbon fiber B-pillars, carbon fiber mirror caps, and 21-inch aerodynamic wheels. Customers can also customize their Taycan Turbo GT through the Exclusive Manufaktur branch, offering a wide range of personalization options.
Luxurious Interior with Performance Enhancements
Inside the Taycan Turbo GT, premium materials such as leather and Race-Tex upholstery are used, creating a sporty and luxurious atmosphere. The 18-way power-adjustable sports seats and exclusive GT Sport steering wheel further elevate the driving experience. The Turbo GT emblem is prominently displayed on the headrests and central control module. The default color scheme is black, but customers can choose to add Volt Blue or GT Silver accents.
The Weissach package enhances the car’s performance optimization, making it the ultimate driving machine. However, it also brings notable changes to the interior, including the removal of the rear seats, clock from the dashboard, floor mats, and even some sound insulation materials to reduce weight.
Record-Breaking Performance
Despite being newly introduced, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has already achieved remarkable records. It completed a lap at Laguna Seca in just 1 minute and 27.87 seconds, making it the fastest production car at that track. It also completed the famous Nurburgring “Green Hell” circuit in 7 minutes and 7.55 seconds, surpassing the Tesla Model S Plaid by 18 seconds and the Taycan Turbo S by 26 seconds, with only the globally renowned Rimac Nevera electric supercar outperforming it by 2.25 seconds.
Pricing and Availability
The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT will start being delivered to customers worldwide in the summer of 2024. The base price is set at $230,000 (5.7 billion VND) in the US, excluding taxes and fees. This represents a 10% increase over the previous range-topping model, the Turbo S.
