Skoda Reduces Vehicle Maintenance Costs for Vietnamese Customers
After the Lunar New Year, the domestic automobile market typically experiences a slowdown. This year, with uncertain economic conditions and tighter consumer spending, car manufacturers are proactively reducing prices, offering more incentives, and even lowering the listed prices to push inventory and improve sales.
Skoda Takes a Unique Approach to Promotions
Skoda is no exception to this trend. Starting from March 2024, Skoda Vietnam will extend its warranty period to 5 years or 150,000 km, depending on which condition is met first.
“With the extension of the warranty period to 5 years, Skoda Vietnam aims to enhance the value of service and ensure continuous support for consumer rights,” shared a representative from the Czech Republic-based company.
This move by Skoda is considered reasonable, especially since most competing brands have already extended their product warranties to 5 years. In fact, the trend of upgrading warranties began in 2020 with companies like Peugeot, VinFast, Hyundai, MG, Suzuki, Ford, and others.
In addition to the extended warranty, Skoda Vietnam also offers a free maintenance package for 3 years or 45,000 km (whichever comes first). This will help consumers save a considerable amount on maintenance costs.
What Makes Skoda Cars Stand Out?
Skoda cars have a slight price advantage over their competitors, which gives them their own unique benefits. One advantage of European cars like Skoda is their solid body structure and chassis. Both the Karoq and Kodiaq models sold in Vietnam use the MQB chassis, which is shared by the Volkswagen Group and used by renowned brands like Porsche, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and more.
Skoda Karoq (both versions) and Kodiaq Ambition are equipped with a 1.4L turbocharged engine. Meanwhile, the Kodiaq Style uses a 2.0L turbocharged engine, with a power output of 180 horsepower and torque of 320 Nm. It also comes with a 7-speed wet clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The car features steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and four driving modes.
The Skoda Karoq is equipped with features such as matrix LED headlights (in the top model), 18-inch alloy wheels, a D-cut steering wheel, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 8-speaker sound system, a panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitoring, speed limiter, electronic parking brake, and 7 airbags. In terms of equipment, the Karoq is on par with competitors like the CX-5 and Tucson.
Similarly, the Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with matrix LED headlights, a 10.25-inch virtual cockpit, and an 8-inch infotainment system. The car also incorporates advanced active safety technologies such as blind spot warning combined with rear cross-traffic alert, driver attention warning (in the Style version), speed limiter (LIM), and a 360-degree camera.
Skoda customers are anticipating the addition of advanced safety technologies such as lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking, which have become popular features in the 1 billion VND price range.
