Sun Group Commences Construction of Hon Thom Beach Resort Complex
Sun Group, one of the leading Vietnamese conglomerates, has initiated the construction of a beach resort and entertainment complex on Hon Thom Island, the largest island in the An Thoi archipelago of Phu Quoc. Spanning 310 hectares, the project encompasses various amenities such as water parks, theme parks, an aquarium, a dolphin performance stage, water shows, a theater, and an eco-resort. The entire complex is designed to celebrate the natural beauty of Hon Thom, with a focus on placing visitors at the center of cultural and artistic experiences while preserving and maximizing the island’s natural value.
The prestigious 6-star Ritz Carlton Reserve Hon Thom is among the upscale resorts included in the complex. Designed to seamlessly blend with the tropical forest and coast of Phu Quoc, Ritz Carlton Reserve aims to provide guests with immersive experiences that enhance their environmental awareness and minimize their impact on nature. Globally recognized as a luxury resort brand, Ritz Carlton Reserve currently operates in only six locations worldwide, with Hon Thom being its seventh destination.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hon Thom beach resort complex was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, representatives from various ministries, and leaders from Kien Giang province. In his speech, Prime Minister Chinh acknowledged Sun Group’s contributions to the development of tourism and beautification projects in different regions, starting from Danang, Lao Cai, and Quang Ninh to Tay Ninh, Phu Quoc, and beyond. Expressing his congratulations to Sun Group’s success, Prime Minister Chinh expressed his hopes for the group to continue its efforts in transforming landscapes, contributing to social welfare, and fostering cultural and artistic potentials.
The Hon Thom beach resort complex will offer authentic eco-tourism experiences, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature. Activities such as snorkeling, swimming, dolphin shows, and interactions with dolphins will be available. Furthermore, the complex will be developed as a tropical paradise, with the addition of characteristic seasonal fruits such as coconut and mango, along with other tropical plant species.
In terms of overall planning, Hon Thom is undergoing international consultancy to ensure sustainable development with smart and green infrastructure. Investments in intelligent transportation systems, water supply, waste treatment, and modern environmentally friendly solutions will further enhance the ecological balance of the island.
Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sun Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to cultural industries as a guiding principle for the development of Sun Group in Phu Quoc. The investment on Ngoc Island is a dedication to the future, focusing on sustainable development centered around nature. Visitors to the complex will experience high-quality, diverse, and artistic encounters while fully immersing themselves in the pristine tropical environment. With this project, Hon Thom will become a tropical paradise capable of replacing traditional global destinations.
Following the success of their premium resorts in Bai Kem, Mui Ong Doi, and the Hoang Hon Township – Sunset Town, which received global accolades for their Cau Hon bridge and diverse artistic performances, the Hon Thom beach resort complex is another step in Sun Group’s journey of transforming lands. These landmark projects not only contribute to the development of coastal urban areas, high-quality tourism, and resorts with distinct identities but also bring the world to Vietnam and elevate Vietnam’s global presence.
