Tesla Thailand recently announced an event to introduce the Cybertruck electric pickup truck in the Southeast Asian market, specifically in Bangkok on April 6th. Social media has been abuzz with images that appear to show the Tesla Cybertruck being transported by air to Thailand.

Tesla Expands Its Reach to Thailand

The introduction of the electric pickup truck, Cybertruck, in Thailand by Tesla has surprised many, as the American electric car manufacturer typically launches its vehicles in Malaysia. This includes models like the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, which are expected to be available in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. Tesla’s decision to enter the Thai market highlights its recognition of the potential for pickup trucks in Thailand.

Variants of the Cybertruck in Southeast Asia

It is currently unclear which variants of the Tesla Cybertruck will be distributed in Southeast Asia, including Thailand. In the United States, the Cybertruck comes in three different versions: a single-motor rear-wheel drive, a dual-motor all-wheel drive, and a tri-motor Cyberbeast.

Power and Performance

Each variant of the Cybertruck offers different power and performance specifications. The single-motor rear-wheel drive version can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 6.5 seconds, has a top speed of 180 km/h, and a towing capacity of 3,402 kg. Its range after a full charge is 402 km.

The dual-motor all-wheel drive version generates a total power output of 600 horsepower, can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.9 seconds, has a towing capacity of 2,995 kg, and a range of 547 km. With an additional battery pack placed between the bed and the interior, the range increases to 736 km.

The tri-motor Cyberbeast variant produces a maximum power output of 845 horsepower and can achieve 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. It reaches a top speed of 209 km/h with a reduced range of 515 km. With an additional battery pack like the AWD version, the Cyberbeast 2024 can travel up to 708 km.

The starting price of the Tesla Cybertruck in the United States ranges from $60,990 to $99,990 USD.
