Thanh tra finds violations in land use payment delay by Phu Cuong Kien Giang Company
The Provincial Inspectorate of Kien Giang has issued a conclusion on the inspection of urban planning and construction implementation by the Construction Department and the People’s Committees of districts and cities in Kien Giang province.
According to the inspection conclusion, Phu Cuong Kien Giang Joint Stock Company (Phu Cuong Kien Giang) made partial adjustments to land use planning in the BT31 area (Zone I, Phu Cuong New Urban Area, Rach Gia City, Kien Giang province). The company completed the procedures for changing the land use purpose and issued a notice to pay for land use on July 3, 2023, by the Kien Giang Provincial Tax Department.
However, the inspection conclusion stated that “Phu Cuong Kien Giang Company has not paid the land use fee of over 46 billion VND, which is in violation of Clause 4, Article 18 of Decree No. 126/2020/ND-CP dated October 19, 2020, of the Government on the detailed regulations for the implementation of the Tax Management Law.”
Furthermore, the inspection also revealed that Phu Cuong Kien Giang Company has not completed the procedures for changing the land use purpose for commercial service land in the Phan Thi Rang roundabout area (Phu Cuong New Urban Area, Rach Gia City).
In addition, two new construction projects, Truong Phat Driving Training and Examination Center by Truong Phat Company Limited, and Kien Giang Mechanical Vehicle Inspection Center by Doan Thinh Phu Company Limited, have been implemented without completing the procedures for changing the land use purpose, resulting in the improper use of land.
Based on these shortcomings, the Provincial Inspectorate of Kien Giang has recommended that the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee direct the Director of the Construction Department to promptly rectify the identified violations. The Inspectorate also suggests that the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee assign the People’s Committee of Rach Gia City, in coordination with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Construction Department, and other relevant agencies, to inspect and review the three above-mentioned projects that have not completed the procedures for changing the land use purpose and take appropriate legal actions.
