Imagine a world where the ultra-wealthy build extravagant hideouts worth millions of dollars in preparation for the end of days. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, is reportedly constructing a colossal complex in Hawaii, with an estimated cost of $100 million, not including the $170 million spent on the land alone. This secretive project, known as Koolau Ranch, reveals Zuckerberg’s undisclosed plans for his own doomsday scenario.

The Enigmatic Koolau Ranch

According to Wired magazine’s investigation into asset records and interviews with contractors, Koolau Ranch is one of the most expensive personal construction projects in modern history. Situated on Kauai Island, the complex will consist of over a dozen buildings, including two main residences connected by an underground tunnel.

Inside Zuckerberg’s Bunker

Based on the construction plans cited by Wired, the tunnel will lead to a 5,000 square meter underground sanctuary with an emergency exit accessible via ladder. This doomsday bunker will feature living quarters protected by explosion-resistant steel and concrete doors.

The complex will also offer at least 30 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, guest houses, and a cluster of 11 treehouses interconnected by cables. Additional security measures include an all-encompassing surveillance system with cameras installed throughout the premises.

Koolau Ranch serves not only as Mark Zuckerberg’s luxurious retreat but also as a potential survival haven in the event of a global catastrophe.

Wired’s report indicates that the builders intend for this complex to be entirely self-sufficient, complete with a massive water reservoir and pumping system. Furthermore, 1,400 acres of land will be designated for farming and livestock to ensure a sustainable food source.
