Tỷ phú Elon Musk, who once voted for Joe Biden in 2020, has been critical of President Biden’s handling of the crisis at the southern border of the United States, accusing the Democratic Party of being controlled by unions.
“I used to vote for the Democratic Party until a few years ago. Now, I think we need a red wave, or else the United States will end,” wrote Musk on X.
According to the media, Elon Musk’s support for President Biden has been dwindling, especially after Tesla, the best-selling electric car company in the United States, was excluded from the White House electric vehicle summit in 2021.
Last year, Musk expressed doubt about voting for President Biden in the 2024 presidential election. However, he has not fully endorsed his opponent, Donald Trump.
“I don’t think I will vote for Biden,” said Elon Musk at an event in November. “But I also don’t say that I will vote for Trump.”
Earlier this month, The New York Times reported that Trump met with Musk in Florida as the former president seeks a large cash infusion for his re-election campaign.
Musk confirmed the meeting but asserted that he did not contribute to the Republican Party’s campaign.
“I was having breakfast with a friend when Donald Trump stopped by, that’s it,” he said, adding that Trump did not request any financial support.
