Three Factories on Nguyen Trai Street to be Transformed into Urban Areas

In the upcoming years, three major factories located on Nguyen Trai Street in Hanoi will be relocated, paving the way for the development of new urban areas. As part of the administrative restructuring plan for the period of 2023-2025, the Hanoi City People’s Committee has identified 67 wards and communes that require arrangement. However, certain areas with special characteristics will not be merged during this phase, such as Phuc Xa, Dien Bien, Quan Thanh, Lieu Giai, Doi Can, Ngoc Ha in Ba Dinh District, and Hang Bot, Lang Ha, Nam Dong, and Quang Trung in Dong Da District, as well as places with historical and cultural significance.

In particular, Thanh Xuan District currently houses several factories and schools that are scheduled for relocation. For instance, large factories like Sao Vang Rubber, Thang Long Cigarette, and Hanoi Soap in Thanh Xuan’s Upper Dinh Ward will be relocated. Once these factories are moved, the land they occupy will be transformed into urban areas with an expected population of 46,000 people, representing 306.7% of the standard population density.

After the relocation, these areas will be developed into urban areas with an estimated population of 48,000 people, equivalent to 320% of the standard population density.
