Tổng Bí thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng’s Telephone Conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin
Tổng Bí thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng warmly congratulated President Putin on his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation for the term 2024-2030, with a record number of votes in the modern history of the Russian Federation. This reflects the trust and support of the Russian people for President Putin’s leadership in the development of the country in this new phase.
In addition, Tổng Bí thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng expressed deep condolences and sympathy to President Putin, the Russian people, and the families of the victims of the terrorist attack in Moscow on the evening of March 22.
Tổng Bí thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng emphasized that Vietnam highly appreciates the significant assistance of the Russian Federation to Vietnam in the past, as well as in the present. Vietnam considers the comprehensive strategic partnership with the Russian Federation as one of its top priorities in foreign policy.
President Putin expressed his gratitude for the congratulations from Tổng Bí thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng and the timely condolences and support from the Communist Party, the State, and the people of Vietnam in the face of the losses suffered by the Russian people in the terrorist attack on March 22, 2024.
President Putin affirmed that Vietnam has always been a reliable friend and partner of the Russian Federation and expressed his joy at the positive developments in bilateral relations in all fields.
During the conversation, both leaders exchanged views and reached a consensus on several major directions to promote bilateral cooperation in areas such as security and defense, economy and trade, culture, and tourism.
On this occasion, Tổng Bí thư Nguyễn Phú Trọng respectfully invited President Putin to visit Vietnam officially. President Putin gladly accepted the invitation and agreed that both sides would coordinate to arrange a suitable time for the visit.
