Tổng thống Ukraine expresses concern over “non-positive response” from the US

In a recent interview with the Washington Post, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. Zelensky emphasized that the attacks would continue unless the US provided Ukraine with better weapons. He stated, “The US response to this issue is not positive. We are using our own unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). No one has the right to say that we are not allowed to do so.” Zelensky highlighted that Washington does not have the authority to halt these attacks, including raids on Russian oil refineries.

According to RT News, the US has long asserted its right to determine how the weapons it provides to Ukraine are used. Earlier this month, Ukraine conducted UAV attacks on several Russian oil refineries, stating that these were “symbolic strikes to bring the Russia-Ukraine conflict closer to Moscow” and disrupt the fuel supply to the Russian military on the front lines.

Zelensky once again called on the US to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles such as the ATACMS, allowing Ukraine to strike deeper into Russian territory. He stated, “ATACMS-300s are the answer,” referring to the Army Tactical Missile System with a range of up to 300 km.

If the US Congress does not approve additional aid, Zelensky warned that Ukrainian forces would have to retreat and abandon plans for another counteroffensive campaign. He stressed, “That means we will step back, retreat, step by step. We are trying to find a solution to avoid this retreat.”

It remains to be seen how the US will respond to Zelensky’s call for additional assistance. The conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to escalate, and the outcome will have significant geopolitical implications. As the situation unfolds, it is crucial for the international community to closely monitor developments and explore diplomatic solutions to de-escalate tensions.
