The UFC Vegas 89 event on March 24 witnessed an intense featherweight showdown between Vietnamese-origin fighter Steven Nguyen and his opponent Jarno Errens. Notably, this was Steven’s debut match at the world’s largest MMA tournament, UFC.

At the event, the 1993-born fighter and Errens delivered an action-packed battle with a series of notable exchanges throughout the three rounds.

Steven himself had moments that made Errens struggle and retreat. However, in overall statistics, Errens emerged as the superior fighter. According to the records, the fighter from the Netherlands landed 106 accurate strikes compared to Steven’s 63. Additionally, Errens also scored a takedown in the second round.

In the end, Errens secured a unanimous decision victory with a score of 30-27 from the judges. Despite not achieving the desired outcome, Steven was still awarded the “Performance of the Night” title and a prize worth 50,000 USD (equivalent to 1.2 billion VND) for his fiery performance that thrilled the fans.
