Xiaomi, the renowned Chinese tech company, has achieved remarkable success with its latest electric vehicle, the SU7. In just under 30 minutes, the company managed to sell an impressive 50,000 units of the SU7, proving its popularity among consumers.
Unprecedented Sales Performance
According to an official announcement on Weibo by Xiaomi Auto, the SU7 achieved sales of over 10,000 units in just 4 minutes, 20,000 units in 7 minutes, and an astounding 50,000 units in a mere 27 minutes. This remarkable feat highlights the strong demand for Xiaomi’s electric vehicles.
Overwhelming User Interest
CEO Lei Jun, in an interview with Sina Technology, shared that within just one minute of the SU7’s launch, 100,000 people added the vehicle to their favorites list. This overwhelming response showcases the enthusiastic interest of consumers in Xiaomi’s electric cars.
During the interviews, Lei Jun acknowledged the fierce competition in the market today. Xiaomi understands the dynamics and considers the price war a temporary strategy. The company’s primary focus is to emerge victorious in the battle of products, technology, and ecosystems. Lei Jun remarked, “Artificial intelligence and ecosystem are our strongest advantages. Xiaomi SU7 has very few competitors in the sub-500,000 yuan segment. I am very satisfied with this car.”
Apple’s Decision and Xiaomi’s Future
Lei Jun also commented on Apple’s decision to abandon its plans for producing cars. He stated, “If it were me, I would never make such a decision or give up. But I understand Apple’s choice.” At the same time, he expressed relief, as he believes that “Apple’s withdrawal from car production means that Xiaomi has one less potential competitor.” Xiaomi Auto aims to become the top choice for Apple users in China.
Expanding Sales and Service Network
Lei Jun shared plans for the initial phase of Xiaomi Auto’s sales outlets, which will cover 29 cities in China. This includes 59 retail stores, 17 limited-time showrooms, and 58 service centers. By the end of this year, the company aims to expand its sales network to 39 cities, with a total of 211 retail stores. Additionally, Xiaomi Auto plans to establish service centers in 56 cities with a total of 112 facilities.
This extraordinary success showcases Xiaomi’s prowess in the electric vehicle market. With its focus on innovation, technology, and consumer-centric approaches, Xiaomi is positioning itself as a formidable player in the automotive industry.
