Yamaha Zuma 125: An Unconventional Option for Motorcycle Enthusiasts
The motorcycle market for enthusiasts is witnessing a surge in popularity with iconic models like the Honda Monkey, Zoomer, CT125, Yamaha PG-1, and Zuma 125. Yamaha has recently released an upgraded version of the Yamaha Zuma 125 in the United States in March 2024. This unique motorcycle promises a distinctive look and comes with a price tag comparable to the Honda SH 160i.
A Refreshing Design for Motorcycle Enthusiasts
The Yamaha Zuma 125 2024 is designed for riders who enjoy standing out from the crowd. Unlike the sleek appearance commonly found in scooters, this motorcycle boasts a rugged and unconventional design. With overall dimensions of 1,920 × 760 × 1,150 (mm), a wheelbase of 1,340mm, an 785mm seat height, and a lightweight frame weighing in at 127kg, the Zuma 125 is a nimble and agile street bike. It is also equipped with a 6.1-liter fuel tank.
Compared to the 2023 model, the 2024 Yamaha Zuma 125 introduces two new color options while maintaining its fundamental design. The bike catches attention with its asymmetric round headlamps, which have been upgraded to LED lights. It features high mudguards, a muscular dual-sport tire design that resembles an off-road bike, 12-inch cast wheels, and a suspension system consisting of telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers.
Features and Performance
The Yamaha Zuma 125 2024 is equipped with a range of features suitable for a fun and practical urban commuter bike. It offers a USB charging port, an improved under-seat storage space, a Start & Stop system that automatically shuts off the engine after 3 seconds of idling to save fuel, and a stylish digital LCD display.
When it comes to performance, the Zuma 125 2024 is powered by a liquid-cooled 125cc Blue Core engine with a modern 4-stroke SOHC design and Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. While the exact power output is yet to be disclosed, it boasts a fuel consumption rate of 2.2 liters per 100 kilometers and meets the latest EURO 5 emission standards.
Comparable Pricing and Market Competition
Yamaha has started selling the Zuma 125 2024 in the United States from March 2024, with a price tag of $3,799 (approximately 93.8 million Vietnamese dong). This places it slightly above the listed price of the standard version of the Honda SH 160i in Vietnam (92.49 million Vietnamese dong).
However, private importers have estimated that the Yamaha Zuma 125 2024 will have an expected price of 99 million Vietnamese dong. With this price, the Zuma 125 2024 competes closely with the high-end variant of the Honda SH 160i (100.49 million Vietnamese dong). It’s worth noting that the Honda Zoomer, which is available in Vietnam through private importers, is priced around 73 million Vietnamese dong, but it is not a direct competitor to the Yamaha Zuma 125.
