Japanese Enterprise Plans to Build a $200 Million Factory in Hoa Binh

Japanese conglomerate Meiko is looking to invest in a factory that produces electronic circuit boards in the Left Bank Industrial Zone, Hoa Binh City.

Investing in Electronic Circuit Board Manufacturing

According to the Hoa Binh Provincial Information Portal, Meiko Group from Japan is proposing to lease land and infrastructure from Dạ Hợp Trading Company, the investment unit of the Left Bank Industrial Zone. The total lease area is 9.2 hectares for a factory that will produce electronic circuit boards worth 4,660 billion VND, equivalent to $200 million USD.

Support from Hoa Binh Province

Meiko Group hopes to receive support from Hoa Binh Province to successfully implement the project. In response to this request, provincial leaders have committed to providing maximum assistance to the company.

Meiko is one of the leading companies in the production and assembly of electronic circuit boards, with five factories in Japan and two factories in China.

In Vietnam, the group officially invested in 2006 with a factory located in Thach That Industrial Zone. At that time, the Meiko project was one of the top 10 largest foreign direct investment projects and the largest electronic manufacturing project by foreign investors. Currently, the company has three factories that produce and assemble electronic circuit boards, with a total investment of $500 million USD, creating over 7,000 jobs and contributing approximately $30 million USD to the local budget annually.
