Slow Progress Threatens the Operation of Two Luxury Coastal Tourism Projects in Ninh Chữ (Ninh Thuận)
The provincial Planning and Investment Department of Ninh Thuận has revealed that due to slow construction progress and delayed land usage, two luxury resort projects, Aminia – Ninh Chữ and Sailing Bay Ninh Chữ, are being considered for suspension.
Aminia – Ninh Chữ
Aminia – Ninh Chữ is a high-end resort project with a land area of 3.6 hectares. It is owned by Aminia Ninh Chữ Trading and Service Company and has a total investment capital of 249 billion VND. The construction includes a 15-story, 5-star hotel, 36 villas, a restaurant, a swimming pool, and supporting facilities. However, even though the project was approved over 10 years ago, only the rough construction of 36 villas has been completed so far.
Sailing Bay Ninh Chữ
Sailing Bay Ninh Chữ, developed by Ninh Chữ Bay Joint Stock Company, covers a total area of 12.3 hectares. The project, which began construction on December 9, 2021, features four towers ranging from 36 to 40 stories, with a total of 4,000 high-end, 5-star standard hotel and resort apartments. The project has an investment capital of 4,779 billion VND, but it remains stagnant.
The entire project area is fenced with a 2-meter high metal sheet, secured with padlocked doors, and inside, there is nothing but empty land with no signs of any activity.
Representatives from Ninh Thuận province have also stated that for projects that have been assigned land or rented land but have excessively delayed progress, strict measures will be taken to suspend their operations.
As of the beginning of 2024, Ninh Thuận province has 56 tourism projects that have been approved by the provincial People’s Committee for investment, with valid investment registration certificates, totaling over 52,469 billion VND in registered capital. Among them, 23 projects are already operational, accounting for approximately 41%; 20 projects are under construction, accounting for over 35%; and 13 projects are in the final stages of investment procedures, accounting for over 23%.
